STEM Education: Connecting the Classroom to Employment

In recent years there has been a focus on teaching science and math and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Since President Obama has been in office, it seems that almost everyone is jumping on the “importance of math and science education and / or need our children to help create our future STEM workforce” car . It seems that more resources are being put into improving math and science programs of education. But with all this attention on math and science, people do not pay attention to how and why we reached this point in education and our economy.
